7 habits of highly smart people

Who doesn't want to be smarter? Learning is a powerful tool to help us grow. Being smart isn't a one size fits all term because people are smart in different ways. There are mathematicians, wordsmiths, entrepreneurs, communicators, artists, and more! Acknowledging in what ways we are smart is the first step. The next is to grow in those areas.

habits to become smarter:

1. Always ask questions

Ask question about what happens in your life .The more you ask questions, the sharper your mind and the more obvious people’s intentions become. By asking ‘question’, you allow yourself to see and understand the world better for what it is, and over time, you’ll pick up on things you might not have noticed before and see them from different angle .

2. Participate in online learning.

There are endless possibilities to continue learning outside of school. The online world is the best place to find learning resources. Sign up for courses on topics that interest you, or take a chance and learn something completely new! When you are tempted to turn on Netflix to shut off your mind (which is still good to do sometimes), choose to invest in yourself instead and learn new things!

3. Be a Teacher :

The best way to learn quickly is to actually teach others what you’ve learnt.

Teaching others requires you to clarify your thoughts and to understand the basics thoroughly before teaching. It also really helps you remember the knowledge you’ve learnt because you’re putting it into practice. You're making it stronger.

4. Surround yourself with smarter people:

The people you surround yourself with determines who you’ll become.

Surrounding yourself with people smarter than you helps improve your thinking, build stronger ambitions and deepen your knowledge.
So,  you must choose your friends with great caution.

5. Try first by yourself :

Knowledge has to be earned, not given. Before asking for help, you must first attempt it by yourself.

If you constantly rely on others for help, you’ll never learn to do things on your own. You’ll never know how things work. And you’ll never have the ambition to do more. Always remember no pain no gain.

As Albert Einstein once said: “Learning is experience. Everything else is just information.”

6. Habit of reading:

Reading isn’t just for fun or for school. It’s to absorb all sorts of unique perspective and insight to create your own.
Reading gives you experience of what people
already attained .

“A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only one". —George R. R. Martin.

7. Travel:

Seeing the world and dipping your toes in new cultures activates your mind, increases your tolerance, changes your perspective, makes you more self-aware, and ultimately makes you smarter! Immersion in travel is key to experience the most learning.

Cultivate the above habits and become smarter than you were earlier.

Thanks!
